Research in male F-344 rats found that taking Dehydroepiandrosterone increases levels of ubiquinone-9 in the liver. No adverse effects were reported. This interaction seems to be well-tolerated. No mechanism identified for how Dehydroepiandrosterone and Ubiquinone interact. Dehydroepiandrosterone acts as a peroxisome proliferator, which may influence ubiquinone levels.
